Tamara received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Psychology as well as a minor in Creative Writing. She is a Licensed Personal Counselor in the state of Arizona.
Tamara brings a narrative approach to the counseling process, which allows an understanding of the uniqueness of each individual. She implements specific therapeutic techniques based on each student's needs. She has specialized education in child development, ADHD in children and adults, disruptive behavior disorders, substance abuse, and bullying.
She has over many years of experience dealing with depression and anxiety disorders. She is EMDR trained by the EMDR Institute, which allows her to provide effective therapeutic treatment of trauma.
Having raised three daughters, Tamara is passionate about helping adolescent girls develop sound boundaries and a positive sense of self. In her spare time, Tamara enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the piano, painting, and spending time with her family.
